At Donum Renatum, we believe every ingredient — and every person — has a purpose. We transform overripe strawberries into powerful grooming products to reduce waste, honor creation, and help men care for themselves with intention and faith.
“From Waste to Worth. From Faith to Formula.”

Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Diego moved to the United States in 2010 to pursue his dream of becoming a scientist. After earning his B.S. in Biochemistry from San Jose State University in 2015, he relocated to San Diego to begin his doctoral training in the joint Ph.D. program between San Diego State University and UC San Diego. He graduated in 2020 with three peer-reviewed publications and later contributed to two more scientific articles, including in Nature Communications, based on his legacy work.
Following his Ph.D., Diego spent five years in the biotechnology sector, gaining hands-on experience as both a scientist and a team leader. In 2023, he began his MBA studies at the University of San Diego with the goal of combining science and business to serve a greater purpose. Amid career success, life’s challenges led Diego to reembrace his Catholic faith — a turning point that reshaped his mission. With a renewed sense of stewardship and purpose, Donum Renatum was born: a venture rooted in faith, science, and a commitment to honor the gifts entrusted to us by our Creator.

Donum Renatum means “Gift Reborn” in Latin—the official language of the Church for centuries. But why this name?
The answer is simple yet profound: it reflects the essence of baptism.
In the sacrament of baptism, we are washed from sin and born into a new life in Christ. This new life calls us to let go of our old selves and embrace a renewed purpose—one centered on God’s calling.
At Donum Renatum, we mirror this spiritual transformation by taking overripe strawberries—often discarded—and giving them new life as powerful grooming products for men. We believe that even what the world sees as “waste” can be redeemed with purpose, just as God redeems us.
This mission is rooted in Christian stewardship. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (2402) teaches:
“In the beginning God entrusted the earth and its resources to the common stewardship of mankind to take care of them, master them by labor, and enjoy their fruits.”
Likewise, in Genesis 2, God gives Adam responsibility over the garden—a reminder that we are called to care for His creation with reverence and gratitude.
Our product names reflect this spiritual vision:
We hope these products remind men of their spiritual identity—sons of God with a purpose. Our goal is to help men care for themselves intentionally, live out their faith boldly, and walk confidently as stewards of the gifts God has entrusted to us.

At Donum Renatum, we believe that faith and science are not at odds — but can beautifully coexist. Our grooming formulations are inspired by both traditional knowledge and evolving scientific research, particularly around polyphenols, a class of naturally occurring compounds found in fruits like strawberries.
Among these, anthocyanins are especially notable. These natural pigments, which give strawberries their vibrant red color, have been the focus of growing research for their antioxidant potential and their possible role in supporting the appearance of healthy hair and scalp.
While we do not make clinical claims and our products are still in early-stage testing, the cosmetic potential of polyphenols — especially anthocyanins — is encouraging. These ingredients are being explored for their ability to:
By using thoughtfully selected ingredients backed by science, we strive to offer a clean, evidence-aware approach to hair and beard care — without compromising on simplicity or integrity.
